I beg to differ with Mr. Naisbitt.  ROSE, at least in the U.S., is an acronym
for Resistivity of Solvent Extract test.  In Europe, it is more commonly
called Solvent Extract Conductivity (SEC) testing, as Graham indicates.  The
two are merely inverses of each other.  One defines ionic cleanliness based
on the resistivity of the solution and the other on the conductivity (the
inverse of resistivity) of the solution.
