A component manufacturer stipulates that the soldering iron used to solder a
limiter needs to be an isolated grounded tip soldering iron.  The manufacturer
goes on and says that this can also be achieved by unplugging a hot iron and
momentarily grounding the tip before soldering.

Can anyone explain the rationale behind having the tip isolated from ground?
Does anyone know of an iron which is designed this way?
