We use a BGA socket to burn-in BGA components while performing electrical
tests. The socket uses "fuzz buttons" to make contact with the package I/Os
and the board. Fuzz buttons look like little balls of steel wool (but their
gold) which make contact to the pads on the board when the socket is screwed in
place. The BGA, in turn, also makes contact to the fuzz buttons when the
component is installed in the socket. I don't know if you can visualize the
concept... if you need a better description, please let me know.
