Hello fellow TechNetters,

I am getting into the world of SMT and am coming up with somewhat of a
basic question, at least I believe so.

Is there any one standard/definition of the different types of PWB
assembly? I seem to find that pure SM is labeled as Type I, and from
there, it looses any cohesion from what I see. I had originally heard
that Type I was pure SM, Type II was a combination of SM and TH, with
variations, and Type III was pure TH.

Any guidance here would be appreciated.
