Mr. Yong:
ANSI J-STD-001B "Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies" is a Joint Industry Standard developed by IPC members. Chairman of the J-STD-001 Task Group 5-22a is Jerry Rosser (Hughes Missle). Table 9-1 provides minimum acceptable conditions for plated through holes with component leads for all three classes of construction. Figure 9-3 is a line drawing that provides a visual representation of the requirements of the standard and increases understanding of the words in Table 9-1.

Another industry developed document, ANSI/IPC-A-610B "Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies" provides additional graphic pictures and illustrations, most in color, to help with understanding the requirements of the J-STD-001. In Section 4.1, Figure 4-2 and Table 4-1 reiterate the criteria of the standard.

Please contact me if you have any additional questions. Jack

Hi,

I am working on the qualification for PIN-THROUGH PASTE PROCESS.

Could you advise the IPC acceptable and rejectable soldering criteria for
the top and bottom side solder fillet for through hole joints.

Looking forward to your reply.

Thank You

Regards
