Ashok,

We do some of each, v-scoring and tabs. When we have the board shop score
the boards, we use a machine in-house made by Afta-Score to deepen the cuts
so the boards break apart with VERY LITTLE pressure. Info on contact for
Afta-Score is:

Radoll Designs, Inc.

P. O. Box 125
Thomasville, GA 31799-0125

Break away tabs can be done a variety of ways to vary the force needed to
snap. Your board shop may have some good suggestions for you. If not, let
me know and I'll try to pull together a drawing for you.

Subject: [TN] Breaking of tabs

In panelised boards what is recommended method of breaking panels??
Flexing is too risky. We are using v-scooring on one side and tabs on
other side. Tabs are used to control parts breaking in proximity to the
edge of board.
Any input on this will be appreciated.
thanks in advance.
