I have an industry question for you.

When you produce bad product (i.e. circuits, design, artwork, etc.) for
your customer, what are you liable for? Are you only liable to replace the
bad product or are you being pressured
to pay for loss of revenue or damages from your customer?

In discussions with one of our customers, they seem to think that the
industry is heading in the direction of vendors paying for not only their
mistakes but also sharing in
the costs of the results of some of their mistakes. I am trying to
determine if this is specific to a particular market segment, a trend in
the industry in general or a misconception on their part.
