Been there, done that.  No clue.  Unfortunately that spec is rather outdated.
The last rev was in 1986 (unless I am missing something).  Technology has
changed so much in the interim that IEE-315 is all but archaic.

I have to agree with the post that said a fuse is a fuse is a fuse, regardless
of type.
