Ray -

In *my* past lives I've worked as a contract design drafter at MANY companies.
Each had it's own way of identifying drawings, parts, etc.  Some were easier to
interpret than others.  Regardless of the system you help develop there will be
things you like and things you'll hate.  The best I can do is wish you well in
your new venture.
