Hello.

We apologize for the unwelcome posting and assure you that the appropriate actions are being taken. TechNet is an open forum, meaning that anyone can subscribe or post the messages to it; having it otherwise undermines the purpose of the forum. Unfortunately, it leaves us open to such attacks as this one. Once again, the actions are being taken, but I cannot promise that it will never happen again. Moreover, I am sure that it will: this is a necessary evil we have to deal with, and by not overreacting and ignoring such postings we can decrease the chances of this happening again.

Regards,

P.S. Here is the message sent to me by one of the subscribers. With his permission, I quote it here:

Hi Dmitriy,

I am sending this direct to you as I do not wish to clog the
TechNet Forum with personal opinion. Please feel free to post this if
you would like.

 To All TechNetters,

Once again an inappropriate bulk E-mail has reached us. This
seems to cause some duress to some of you because IPC did not screen and
delete this message prior to it's posting. Grow up! This is still the
best forum of its kind and if we receive a bogus posting from time to
time we should not feel as if we are being put upon or embarrassed (for
either ourselves or our customers). In the year+ that I have belonged to
this forum I have received only two porn solicitations out of over 2150
TechNet postings (yes I save them all), this is a pretty good average
and tells me that the good folks at IPC are looking out for the Forums
best interest. It amazes me that some folks out there either do not or
cannot read the subject and delete any inappropriate messages
themselves. I think that to remain open to the public (the folks who
need our help) IPC must allow everyone access and hope the inappropriate
messages (porn, commercials, etc.) are not dwelt on to much by us folks
who probably have better things to do. This is my opinion, I hope there
are others who share it.
