Hello,
I would appreciate input on making cross sections for measuring
nailheading.
(I don't mean to start a debate here on whether nailheading is
critical.)
I have oberved cross sections from a couple of labs where they are
able to section after drill, rather than wait until the holes are
plated.
We find it difficult to fill the small via holes with molding compound,
and therefore the sections are not adequate.
We need to fill the holes with compound. What are some of your methods
to achieve this? We do use a vacuum.
Also, is it true that the best nailheading data is generated prior to
plating the hole? How much of the nailhead goes away during the plating
processes?
Sincerely,
Drilbert
