I would like to invite PWB manufacturers, suppliers, and other interested
people in the Atlanta area to attend my presentation on the Design for the
Environment (DfE) Printed Wiring Board (PWB) Project in Atlanta on
November 18, in which I will discuss the results of the Cleaner
Technologies Substitutes Assessment for the "making holes conductive"
process. In the presentation I will summarize the health and
environmental risk, performance, and cost of several direct metallization
processes, as alternatives to the electroless copper process.

The IPC/EPA DfE PWB Project is a voluntary, non-regulatory effort that is
encouraging companies to implement cleaner technologies that will
improve the environmental performance and competitiveness of the PWB
industry.

For additional additional information about the project, visit our Web site at
www.ipc.org/html/ehstypes.htm#design, or the DfE Program Web site at
www.epa.gov/dfe, or call me at 202-260-1707.

Specific information on the conference is as follows:
