Our production dept has questions regarding staffing. What levels of
staffing are people using for machine operators and inspectors? What type
of equipment are you using with these levels (high, med, low volume) and
what are the line configurations? How do you handle setups? Are you
low-volume/ high-mix , high-mix/low-volume or somewhere in between. This
is somewhat a bone of contention between engineering and production since
production always wants minimum staffing while engineering wants what we
consider proper staffing levels.
