In terms of cost, our MRP system "charges" $ 0.25/square inch of surface
gold plated per 25 millionths of an inch thickness of gold. There is
presently no distinction in cost for the Type 2 versus the Type 3 gold. As
an example, a housing cover with 12 square inches of surface to be plated
would cost $ 3.00 for the "standard" gold/nickel on aluminum [200 millionths
EN, 25 microinches gold]. This is the minimum charge if gold plating is
applied.
