Hello Ed
We've found, with much experimentation, that keeping the anode
surface area approx. 4" below the top and 4" above the bottom of the
panel works best. We tried the shield bit, but found it
unsatisfactory. We use 40mm ball anodes in Ti baskets with a series
of 1/4" polypro spacers on the bottom to create the desired spacing.
We simply maintain the anode ball level about 6" below the top of the
basket for the top spacing.
As to panel size, we use 18" X 24" and 18" X 21" predominately, and
see good results using both sizes.
