Subject : Plasma Coating on Display Lenses
------------------------------------------

Let me introduce myself, my name is Ruzai attached to Motorola Penang. At
this moment I'm doing some study on the effect of plasma coating on our
Polycarbonate lenses, when subject to various condition.

Anyway I'm lacking some information especially on chemical
bonding/interphase study between the coating layer and the polycarbonate
surface. Would appreciate if you could help me in this matter.

One more thing, do anyone have any idea on following situation :

Two sets of lenses were ultrasonic welded to the polycarbonate housing/cover.
1st set were not hardcoated whereas 2nd set were plasma coated. After did
the pull-test using the Instron machine, the result showed those coated
lenses gave high force compared to non-coated lenses. Why ?

Appreciate any help.

Regards,
Ruzai Shah
