Hello Technet,

Anybody who has an opinion about if it is necessary to have different rules for derating a design with PED:s  (Plastic Encapsulated Devices) than ceramic components?

Sometimes a situation comes up to use PED:s more or less outside the specified temperature limits.
Is there anybody, who has any experience of this and maybe also an idea of sufficient derating when using PEDs outside limits? The use outside temperature limits provides of course the necessary tests. Derating can be performed in different ways, dep. on device types, e.g. reduced voltage, fun-out etc.
