Sorry Joanna, here at Philips Consumer Electronics
{Magnavox}, we put the logo on the boards on the component
silk screen or the bottom {solder} side copper.
The only other OEM i worked for did the same thing.
The only thing i could suggest (unless you are using
single sided boards) with no component legend
silk screen would be reverse image in the solder mask,
preferably over a copper fill on the top {component}
side of the board [bottom side would end up as a
collection of solder blobs if wave soldering].
You also might want to solicit the opinion of your
legal department on this as it may involve some
common law copyright issues.
