Some people use email clients that can automatically launch executables
attached to an email message, at the click (or double click) of a button.
So if the attached executable file contains a virus, the computer will
become vulnerable to infection.

I have seen MS word documents infected with a virus sent to me via email.
Fortunately, the antivirus utility on my PC cathces them and flags me
before they do any damage.
