Haven't heard this one in a while. FYI it was the rage 10 years ago. Federal spec L-T-90 is obsolete. It was superseded by the commercial item description (CID) document AA-113. I finally got fed up with having the industry chase all over creation for a piece of tape, so I discussed with the IPC test methods committee the type of tape most commonly used and added this to the test method. Currently the test method 2.4.28.1 calls out 3M brand 600 ½ inch wide tape or equivalent Type 1 Class B tape per AA-113.

Happy pull testing!
