Bill,
I have no experience with customers taking exception to the J-STD but, I
have experienced many other customer exceptions to military
standards/specifications through the years. Sometimes customers provide
their own workmanship standard or a tailored standard. What does the
drawing call for on lead protrusion? Typically drawing requirements
override "all" standards/specifications. What type of equipment is this
to be used on? Why do they want a solder joint with that much strength?
