Pink ring by itself is cosmetic - and is an indication
of a less than perfect process.

The caution is if you have pink ring YOU COULD HAVE
WEDGE VOIDS. and this is where the functional problems
come up.  

When I see obvious pink ring, then multiple microsections
should be performed to assure no wedge voids are present.
If they are not and the hole wall plating is continuous, then
the boards are not a realiability threat (for that reason).
