Dan,

Can you use UV light or perhaps chlorine?

Jill steeper at Shipley in Marlborough, MA knows about this stuff, give her a

We have a mildly acidic citrate type plating bath that develops MOLD 
after periods of unuse, usually within two to three weeks. The mold 
stains the deposit and plugs the filters. We prefer not to use 
formaldehyde as a biocide due to its toxicity.

Can anyone recommend a benign biocide? Please advise.
