My first suggestion would be to look in IEEE315/ANSI Y32.2. I've yet to find
another spec for schematic symbols. I believe, please correct me if I'm wrong,
but it may vary from company to company. We use Cadstar for Windows and have
been forced to create new symbols but I am certain than anyone would be able to
read the schematics using these symbols.
