John,
How much more in lead time and/or cost to you pay for the LPI
letterscreen? Is it readily practiced in industry?

Tom:
We use a minimum of .007" wide, and approx. .040" high characters. Although
.010" wide and .065" high characters are preferred.
When the board density or aspect ratio of the characters prevents the
letterscreen from being enlarged, we use an LPI letterscreen which can produce
very sharp looking characters down to approx. .005" wide and .030" high. The
downside to this process is that it involves an additional imaging,
developing, and bake cycle.
