Hi TechNet -
If there is no barrier plating finish between the silver and the brass
(such as nickel) then you may have zinc diffusion into/thru the silver
finish which will make for an nonsolderable situation. Conduct a
microsection and scanning electron microscopy analysis on the part to
determine the metallurgies present and to verify the finish
measurements. Good Luck.

I have a part which is brass with 1 um of Ag. It does not take solder
very well at all. Any suggestions?
