<< The term "dentritic growth" is becoming more synonymous with 85 C /85
RH electrical testing. Some refer to it as "hydrolytic stability" as
well. This results in basically "shorts" in systems with tight
      spacings and high voltages. >>

Duane,

I beg to differ. Dendritic growth is metal migration across an insulative
space. It happens at room temperature, 35/90, 65/90 etc., not just 85/85. I
would disagree that it is "synonymous" with 85/85 testing. It is not.

As for hydrolytic stability, it is not an electrical test and has nothing to
do with dendritic growth. It is a test to see if a polymeric material will
revert to individual components in a high humidity condition. This test was
originally done during the Vietnam era when we found that many coatings and
potting compounds reverted to individual elements (part A and part B) under
hot and humid conditions.
