Gnd Vias every 1/20 wavelength is also important. Shielding
& Proximity is important for susceptibility on layout on
signals. eg 1.5GHz LO VCO input.

I am also involved in the design of RF circuit boards and
have had engineers insist on this type of ground connections
with out a good explanation of the electrical or physical
characteristics that drive this need. Could you elaborate on
the 1/20 wavelength rule? Our operating frequencies are
between 1040 MHz and 1090 MHz if this is necessary for
explanation.

Thank you in advance.
