UGH, again.!
I have a question about putting components in Nitrogene-filled
plastic bags for getting better long term solderability of legs. Of
course, this operation will exclude reactive Oxygene and Water vapour,
but how effective is this in reality? Plastic is plastic and has
considerably bigger molecules than has water and air. Sooner or later
the pressure diff. ought to be eliminated by Mother Nature. The question
is WHEN . I know NASA, ESA and others in the "high-tech" branch use
this method for longtime backup storage, and we have to do the same in
some product areas, maybe. There are MIL-STDs and a lot of specs, but
what normal person can stand all this reading! I'm a man of practise and
I hope somebody can tell: the protection works for xx years, not more.
The very question now is: installing or not installing the equipment.
/Best regards / Ingemar
