I have been watching the FR-10, G-10 discussions with interest. On occasion,
we build boards for radiation testing of components. In the past we have had
problems with the flame retardant agents added to FR-4 (Bromine?). As a
result, we have been using polyimide for those boards. If G-10 doesn't have
Bromine (or any other high-atomic-number) additives, perhaps we could use it for
our radiation test boards and save some money.

Are there any reasons to stay away from G-10 material other than the fact that
it is NOT flame retardant? Do most board shops carry G-10 material?

Gary P.
