     The gold is likely to be impervious.  The substrate nickel, though, 
     will be etched by nitric.  If it is a pattern plate Ni/Au (Ni/Au etch 
     resist) then don't put through nitric strip.

     Is hard/soft gold impervious to a Nitric Acid Strip, if so, how many 
     passes are typically allowed (assuming a gold tab area)?
