If the contract with your supplier included their meeting the
acceptability requirements of IPC-600E then you may have a chance of some
negotiation on the boards already built that exceed the 50% limit. In my
opinion though, the 50% limit was written for punched holes not straight =
line
board edges. The amount of haloing with vary from board to board dependi=
ng
on how the cut intersects with the glass bundles in the laminate weave. =
If
you twist your supplier=92s arm on the ones already built, you will find =
the
next order will have a price increase or they may refuse to build them.=20
FR4 in my experience does not perform well when die cut. Paper bas=
ed
laminates can be die cut with less edge damage. With traces only .015=94=
from
the die cut edge, your design will be an on going problem particularly as=
the
die begins to wear.
