Regarding soldering. You have given us 1/2 the equation, what are the wires
made of and what is the make-up of the solder? In a former life I had some
success soldering regular silver-plated stranded copper wire to stainless
steel pins (helment mounted earphones and amplifier assemblies in oxygen
masks) with common 63/37 solder by using Hughes 1189 (lemon juice) now
marketed by Kester. Limited testing (240-hr. cyclic humidity testing using
stranded wire) did not reveal any corrosive effects from flux wicked up
under the insulation. Advise us of the nature of the wire, the application
environment, solder make-up and perhaps we can help. Jim Moffitt, EMPF
