Subject: Electroless Gold

Dennis,

Thanks for your help, but its immersion gold that were using. Any
information that you have for this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again,

Kelly

I have specified and used electroless gold platings for mil-std for a
number
of years. I remember that there were specifications which allowed my
previous employer to waive solder tining requirement if the Au was
between a
range of thicknesses. We ended using Au for a number of applications
where
tinning was impractical. I don't remember the specification we used.
 I
still have email access to my old employer and could probably get you
an
answer in a few days. I also have the email address for our old DCAS
inspector and he knew the spec # for everything. If you need any
soldering
help for Au I have a publication from the international tin institute I
could send you.
Good Luck,
