Ed, this might not be as easy as it seems on the cover.

"Typically" how YOUR (anybody) screen appears when YOU RECEIVE mail is a
function of YOUR OWN MAIL SOFTWARE. I am using Eudora Pro; I have MY
preferences set to "wrap text" so ALL THE STUFF I SEE FROM YOU OR ANYBODY
comes to my monitor in the font _I_ choose (courier, monospace) in the line
length I choose (90 characters) in the window size I set (automatic zoom
height to msg size).

Personnally, I am REALLY FRUSTRATED by those people who force wrap their
outgoing msgs which causes them to have carriage returns imbedded in the
paragraphs at the end of each line of text instead of just at the end of
the paragraph. Especially when they send from 13/14" monitors, I get little
short lines of text on the left side of each document I open, and I have to
scroll down to see the whole msg. If I ever want to copy/paste any of that
original text into another msg or word processor, I have to go through it
and delete every carriage return.

Sometimes this comes from people using "typewriter technology" and hitting
the return key at the end of each line instead of letting the computer do
the wrap work for them.
