Scanning technology is very good. The best approach is to scan the
artwork and then have the service bureau regenerate it to what is
know as "CAD Data". This will give you the cleanest gerber data set
possible. Errors are possible at this stage as it is largely a human
interactive process, but choosing a good vendor, most will
guarantee their work, will provide you with excellent results.
