     The January IPC Designers Council Chesapeake Chapter meeting was held 
     on Monday, January 20th at Orbital Sciences Corporation in Germantown, 
     Maryland.  Our thanks to Fred Elsis for arranging to host and sponsor 
     this meeting.
     
     The guest speaker was Steve Zimmer from HADCO Corporation in Owego, 
     New York, who presented on the topic of controlled impedance design 
     and processes.  Some good questions and discussion followed the 
     presentation.  
     
     Chapter business included the appointment of George Crawley of Orbital 
     Sciences Corporation to the position of Design Certification Liaison 
     Officer.  Thanks to George for volunteering to to accept this position 
     and communicate with National IPC regarding the pc designer 
     certification program.  The group was reminded of the upcoming 2 Day 
     seminar on February 7th and 8th at Veribest, Inc. at their Reston, VA 
     facility with the guest presenter, "Clive Max Maxfield", reviewing 
     electronic fundamentals for designers.  
     
     Linda Mazzitelli, President, requested topics for future meetings and 
     the floor suggestions were:
     
     BGA Design
     Materials
     MCMs and how they differ from PCBs
     Mass Micro Vias
     Blind Vias
     
     Discussion took place regarding the possibility of a VENDOR day in 
     APRIL. If anyone can volunteer space for this fund raising event, 
     please contact a board member.  
     
     The meeting was adjourned at 9:30 PM.
