I would try suppliers of underground corrosion measurement and 
cathodic protection equipment, like M.C. Miller or Tinker - Rasor.
High DC currents are common in impressed current cathodic protection.
Not only do these companies sell clip-on DC ammeters (Yokogawa makes 
good ones), but precision milli-ohm shunts for current measurements 
with voltmeters.  The shunt is usually permanently installed in the 
cable to an anode bed.  You could install such shunts in your plating
lines.

Data logging voltmeters with serial ports are easy to find.
