Scott,
There are several service bureaus that handle scanning of film artwork and
conversion to Gerber Format. Drill data can also be captured and output.
Below is a list of some of the service centers:

I have little knowledge in this area so I was hoping someone could help.
Normally we work with gerber files to have boards fabricated, but we now
have a need to fabricate boards that we only have mylar copies of the
artwork. What steps need to be taken to convert this into gerber data or
an electronic format that fab houses can utilize? Also, are there possible
problems making the conversion? Lastly, can anybody supply me with a
recommedation of companies that can do this conversion?
We potentially have a large quantity of part numbers to work with and would
like to set it up wisely and understand what we are doing. Thanks for the
help.
Scott
