You are not alone in the frustrating application of SPC to PCB manufacturing. I have found that many of the most commonly accepted "rules" of SPC are very difficult to apply to our industry. Most people will end up with a multitude of ineffective charts that generally show processes statistically out of control. I have developed a course specifically designed for proper and effective SPC application in our industry. I have had the privilege to provide this course to several companies though out the US. I find it has been very well received. It is based on effective and practical application methods. If you are interested, contact me off line at [log in to unmask] or 918 835-4417. Although I rarely have time to provide courses anymore, I will be happy to send you a copy of my SPC manual. It includes what I have determined to be most beneficial elements to monitor. Perhaps it can help. You might note that IPC also has an SPC publication ( IPC-PC-90).

Sincerely,

Ed Cosper
