Rather than shearing standard laminate sheets to size at our own location, we are investigating purchasing laminate cut to specific sizes from laminate distributers.

We would like to find, or develop, a specification to describe the acceptable edge condition for these panels.

All I have found so far is that edges should be "smooth and free from burs". This is a little too vague to put in a meaningful spec.

I would appreciate any comments from anyone who has developed specifications to describe the acceptable edge condition on precut panels, or anyone who has had experience buying panels cut to specified size and what they specify in their purchase orders.

Any comments from people currently buying precut laminate and any problems they have encountered would also be appreciated.

Thanks for your help.
