The Metalic Foils Subcommittee is going to undertake a revision of
metalic foils specification IPC-MF-150. The last revision (F), was
published in October 1991, with and amendment published in August 1992.
Since that time, several new types of foil have been introduced to the
marketplace. In the last few years especialy there have been high
ductility electro-deposited foils, and some variations of double treated
foils. Additionally, some of the end users are specifying wrought alloy
foils. All of these materials have no current "class" or category in
which they fit. For that reason, and the fact that after 5+ years it is
time to clean up the specification, the IPC-MF-150 task group is being
reinstated. It will meet on Sunday March 9 from 1:00 to 6:00, and
Monday March 10 from 3:15 to 5:00 at the IPC Printed Circuits EXPO in San
Jose. All interested parties are welcome to attend. Please contact Jon
Holmen ([log in to unmask]), at IPC or the committee chairman Dave
McGowan, ([log in to unmask]), for further information.
