Address,
Happy new year for all those that have returned. I know I had a
wonderful two weeks off.
Component suppliers normally provide an MTBF for there components and
some of us (companies) are check systems for their data (are company
is working on ESS testing). I have seen a gradual increase in
component failures as they return from the field.
HISTORY: Our assembly house does not have a controlled environment for
minimizing potential ESD failures (working on this to).
Assuming that some of the field returns are related to ESD, how are
others determining that ESD reduced the MTBF? If ESD is the root
cause, can it be quantitative by a percentage?
Please advise,
John Gulley - QA
