I used to see this problem at a former company. I attriubuted it to
an agressive microetch/solderstrip undercutting the mask and allowing
a thin piece of soldermask to be removed during the tapetest.
But since I have not spent years studying soldermask, I can't say for
sure..
What type of solder strip do you use?? We used Peroxide Biflouride
which probably a bit more aggressive than a standard Nitric.

Friends:
We encounter a problem with solder mask peel off which is near gold
finger, while after gold plated.
Is there anybody experience to this problem solution ?
Our solder mask in use is "Tamura" & "Taiyo". Gold plating tank is deep
type.
Thanks and Best Regards,
