From my past experience, I have found that when using gold as an etch
resist, the best way to avoid slivers is to run jobs using 1/2 oz base
foil. I was never able to characterize the increase in etch speed to
successfully etch thicker foil. When I got jobs that had a build that
utilized 1 and 2 oz copper foil, we usually ended up with slivers.

Hello,
Please post information, experiences, and anecdotes, on using
electroplated gold as an etch resist. In particular how is the etch
rate controlled. How can the undercut be reduced to eliminate the
chance of slivers.
(Gold/Nickel/Copper/FR4 :The copper gets etched)
Thanks
Rich
