Are there any standards or design guidelines for Press Fit connector?

AMP specs the holes for their "action pins" pretty tightly.  I'd guess
other press-fit connector vendors do likewise.

AMP's spec on one of their pin sizes, for instance is:

            drilled hole dia.            PTH dia.
           ===================        ===============
            .0453+/-.001"               .037"-.043"

They spec the copper plating thickness in the hole at .001-.003"
and the tin-lead at .0003 min.
