Remember that hydrochloric acid in ANY part of the plant is airborne as
a white powder (ammonium chloride) which is highly corrosive.  If one
opens a concentrated hydrochloric acid bottle in the lab, everything
including your eyeglasses will be coated with ammonium chloride if not
done in the hood.

Consider geography.  I once worked in Delaware where we could not read
low ppm chlorides by ion chromatography because of the salt in the air.

Otherwise, make sure to apply these rules of thumb to your processes as
well, because a board placed in these environments could corrode before
or after shipment.
