Hello Dave:
Say Dave, are your chairs grounded down through the rollers or legs?
Is the floor surface made of ESD matting? Are the folks grounded
before they open product for work? Hang in there just one more
thought more than a question. What is the cloth material made of on
the chairs?
These are more food for thought than questions. We have rollers on
the chairs and the material on the chairs is not suppose to generate a
charge. Everyone is grounded before the open the containers. So far
we been ok. We build class 3 products, but so far no issues with ESD.
Of course you know if there is more I can do. Send e:mail. You sure
help a lot a people, so maybe it's our turn to do something for you.
By rights your hard drive should run out of space. Let me know if I
can do more.

Hi TechNet -
The quality folks asked me to post a question that they are trying to
understand. The question is:
"How have other electronics manufacturers solved the issue of having
the fabric on the operator's chairs not generate a static charge? We
are finding that a small charge is building up on the chair seats."
Thanks for the help in advance.
