I would highly recommend consulting with your adhesive vendor.
They should be able to identify a time which would assure optimum
results of the adhesive after sitting idle. I am sure it depends on
the environmental conditions of your facility (temperature and
humidity) with some adhesives. If the vendor throws the ball back
into your lap then a DOE would be warranted.

Is there a IPC standard which specifies the maximum amount of time allowed
between adhesive application and its thermal cure? Thanks in advance for
