Jim,
In November of '94 I purchased 225-pin BGA sockets from:
Plastronics, Inc.
2601 Texas Drive
Irving, TX 75062 phone: 214-258-1906
The sockets I purchased were thru-hole with blade-style pins (.005" thick x
.015" wide x .160" long). You might be able to use a dogbone solder-pad,
solder the socket in the via holes, and later remove the socket and solder the
BGA to the pads. Or...there may be SMT sockets available now.
*******************
Can anyone tell me of a supplier of sockets which ceramic BGA components can be
installed and removed for test purposes? The intent is to solder the socket to
the PWB, test the components, remove the socket and permanently solder the
component to the board.
Thanks,
Jim Marsico
